Default ABS problem

Hi all,
I am a brand new vette owner. I recently purchased an '89 roadster that appeared to be in super condition. Shortly after buying the car I noticed a peculiar buzzing sound coming from behind when the brakes were applied and the car was slowed down. There also was a pulsing in the brake pedal as well as the car came to a stop. I also noticed that the pedal would come up somewhat when pumped once. Air in the brake line? The brakes seem to work well other than the fact that they may need to be bled.
The "ABS Active" light comes on when this is happening. This condition does not usually start right away when you start off. I starts after about ten minutes or several brake applications at slower speeds.
The pulsing in the pedal and the ABS buzzing seems to intensify until the "antilock" light comes on. Then there seems to be no more pulsing and buzzing when braking at slower speeds.
Can anyone help me to figure out which direction to go to solve this problem? I have waited a long time to get my first vette and I want to make it right.

Sounds like air in the lines. Get a quart of Valvoline full synthetic and a full
brake bleed(start the wheel farthest and work in)(farthest from the master
cylinder.) Good luck.
