Messed up windshield
I messed up mu windshield this weekend =( I was driving from High Point NC to Myrtle Beach SC, I had just gotten past Conway when I noticed 2 quarter size marks side by side near the passenger side =( I didn't even see it happening, it was there all of a sudden when I looked over
insurance covers it but not the first $100
kinds sucks but the beach was fun
FYI...If YOU make the arrangements to have the windshield replaced, MOST glass replacement services will "price in" your deductable, so it works out to $0 out of your pocket.

Actually the waiving of insurance deductibles is illegal in most states and is considered fraud by the insurance company.
In the old days (about four years ago) glass companies got away with bloody murder when it can to profit off insruance claims. Those days are gone.
If you can find a company to waive the deuct DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!
I guarentee they will cut corners on your replacement.
When is comes to the weather stripping, call the glass shop and let them know you would like to use a GM part. That way when the install it they are responsible for the part.
If someone wants me to install their part I will not guarentee the part.

Re: Messed up windshield (xlr8nflorida)
Shoot: the dealer where I bought my `87 a couple of weeks ago, broke the windshield fixing the wiper motor. I guess even among "professionals" sp? , there are no guarantees.
I left Myrtle Beach on the 2nd...wasn't driving the Vette though. My wife and I were in her Accord. It's a long way to Myrtle Beach from Baton Rouge...don't know if my wife could have handled the steady loud purr of the Vette for 13 hours!
