New Dewitts Radiator
first off, tom said he had one for an auto that had some cooling fins missing and hed give me 100 bux off. being the frugal (not cheap) person i am i said ok. got the radiator and it was missing maybe a 1/2" of fins on one section. no big deal at all. thanks tom. quality of the unit is excellent. very well made piece. pretty too, too bad its covered up.
"direct fit"
had a couple problems getting it in. now that it is in, wasnt too bad. while doing it, was questioning tom's ancestry on a fairly regular basis. gotta say an 85 is lots easier than a 96. who was the genius that decided to put those six lovely little screws in the front of the upper shroud??? we have holes in the desert here for people like that. cooling: so far so good. was about 108 on the way home the other day. 8 mile ride in stop and go. a/c on full tilt, car never got over 215. very happy with that. this is with the stock 195 thermostat and stock fan settings. car is bone stock except for the rad. the weird thing though is the car cools down at a stop lite. will be driving a long, car will be at say 210. stop at a lite and it holds steady for a little while, then the temp will drop a degree or 2. very cool!!.
anyway. if anyone has a need for a heavy duty radiator, give tom a call. this is the second one ive gotten from him and am happy with both. shipping was fast too, got this thing in like 4 days. not bad. all in all , a pretty good dude to deal with. after 2 radiators and a twin spal fan setup, i got no major complaints. regards, j.d.
