I just posted a comment about oil additives and I was wondering what stuff ya'll were using... if any...

No additives needed as I use a premium Quaker State and change it every 3mo or 3k miles.
I worked in a chem. lab at Lubrizol (a lubricant additive company) for over 15yrs and saw first hand that a premium motor oil is all that is needed.

Unless someone knows something the Mobil 1 engineers don't why use an additive? However, even Mobil 1's tech line ( 800-ASK-MOBIL) recommends that you use the GM posi additive with their Mobil 1 gear oil for the differiential. It has worked fine for me for the last 10 or so years.

You forgot to add Crisco! Dump some of that in a smokey motor and it'll pass a smog test!!!

No mechanic-in-a-can for me or my cars. However, on other peoples less than maintained cars, I have found that Risolone works very well for cleaning varnish from sticky-ticky hydraulic lifters.
