Slave cylinder bad?
When my 85 sits overnight and I get into the car the clutch engages right at the floorboard. After I use it a couple of times the clutch works up at the top of the pedal. I also seem to be loosing hydraulic fluid. Is this the slave cylinder? I don't see any fluid leaking from the master cylinder unless it is leaking on the inside of the car. My car is hard to get into gear at times also.

I had the same problem after letting the car sit for about a month. Looks like I had some air in the line. I bled the system and now it work better than before. Try that first before you start replacing any parts.

You may still have air in the system. They're a beeatch to bleed. I got mine bled by unbolting it from the bellhousing and tilting it up while someone else pumped the pedal. I remember somone else in another post saying they bled theirs by taking the whole slave cylinder off the car and bench bleeding it. It sounds to me like you have air in the system. Check your hose where the rubber is crimped, too, to see if it's not frayed.
