i hope that they are as good as everyone says. they sure as heck look better than all of the other exhausts. i HATE the LT1 exhaust tips. the quad chrome round tips suit me much better.
did any of you guys notice any performance gains?
also, do you have to do any cutting/welding to get these on or take the oem ones off? i was under the impression that they bolted on. anyways , what would a fair price be to pay a muffler shop to do this? if i decide to do it myself, how do you get under the back of the car? the obvious answer, of course, is to jack it up and sit it on jackstands, but is there another way, seeing as how i don't have any jackstands?
I really think you will love them. I made one trip to the dyno this spring after upgrading my bone stock LT1 to an open air lid, K&N filter and my Magnaflows. Although I didn't have a pre-mod dyno run, the dyno showed 18-23hp gain at the rear wheels, based on the experience of Jason at MTI and his years of working with vettes. I also noticed the ASR was more active after adding the Magnaflows. Just make sure they are installed less than an inchy from the cutouts. In my opinion, they look better high and tight.

Im not trying to start a argument, but are you saying the 18-23 hp increase is based on what MTI feels is a average for a LT1? If so, that is not a very accurate measurement. The same design engine can vary 20hp or more on a dyno.

I noticed some sotp gain immediately after mine were installed, but sincerely doubt 18-23hp either maybe 10chp? at any rate, for the price, imho the looks & sound alone of the Magnaflows are a great deal

The look and sound great. Not sure if there is any real performance gain out of them or not. Magnaflow told me the claimed 12hp. That seems high to me, but . . .

Re: Just ordered Magnaflows!-another question... (mustbampeg)
Welcome to the magnaflow brotherhood! You can cut the old ones off yourself with a sawzall or a hacksaw and bolt on the new ones or have them welded. Directions come with them. You will have a break in period of 150-200 with some major resonance. It will fade. I think they are awesome and I definately felt an improvement, but no dyno numbers to back it up.
