Ok, so we're at work, and the conversation comes up.
What would it actually take to change the body of my '88 to look like a
'90 ZR1?
We agreed that doors, rear quarters, rear bumper(with lighting parts), and
moldings are what needs to be attatched. Obviously, the mounting pieces for the above parts are going to be needed.
Whaddya think? Is that it, or is there more.
c5west might have kits like this, I know they have(had) a kit for lt1-styles to convert......... check their site
That is pretty much it, you definately need the 3rd brake light up top and you would need ZR-1 rims and ZR-1 rear badge. I assume you would do 90 ZR-1 on account of your front bumper and black rub strip on your car.
That would be the external stuff but then you wouldn't have the best part of the ZR-1, the heart of the beast the LT5 motor
It would cost alot of $$ to do and you would not have a ZR-1 Vin #.
Better just to buy one outright since some are dipping under $20,000 now.
I think the rocker panels are different as well. It's been done. A CF member's (sgtbrum?) father recently did it to an 85. The archives are a mess now with the forum software upgrade but give it a few days and I'll find that thread...
