Default Brake/Rotor Replacement trouble.

I am a longtime admirerer, first time owner and recent joiner to the forum. I have a '92 LT1. I am planning on participating in my first autocross on Sunday, so last night I started replacing the brake pads and rotors. When I put the rear wheels back on and tried to back out of the garage I discovered that the rear wheels would not turn. So I started reading the Haynes and GM service manuals(yes I read the directions after attempting the work) they both say that when replacing the rotors you must disengage the automatic adjustment feature on the parking break. Is this true? What do I do now. I have tried there procedure for disabling the automatic adjustng break now but the illistration is unclear and I have not been successful. I am all ears for suggestions.

No you don't have to disengage the auto adjuster. Just need to pull the 2 caliper bracket mounting bolts off the backing plate and lift the assy. off the rotor. You can then replace the pads and pull the rotor off the axle flange. Did you mess around with the parking brake adjuster cables before doing the work?

No I did not. It turns out that the rotor were either bad or NAPA gave me the wrong one's. These were too deep and caused the rotor to press against the back of the rotor.
