For a 95 what is the model number of the air filter that came on it new it's a acdelco I think. I checked with local chevy dealer they didn't have any checked another chevy dealer when I was out and bout they didn't have any..went by napa they didn't have any....I had planned on changing it when I did my oil change but can't get my hands on one.
anyone know the model number I'll just order one online if they don't gimme a call soon.
The K&N air filter is a much better deal in that it can be cleaned and re-oiled over and over again. Cost will run around $65 with the K&N Recharge Kit (solvent and oil). Just after I bought my 92, I replaced the air filter with a Fram filter and it was $22 So even if you change your filter once a year, you break even after 3 years and with the K&N it will flow air as good when its dirty as a standard filter flows when new.
Places like AutoZone or Shucks will have the K&N in stock, but you can probably get it cheaper from Sumit Racing.
The k&n does sound great but is it as good about filtering as the stock acdelco? I watched a video on k&n, stock paper filter, and a amsoil filter..it looked like k&n let a little more dirt by but it wasn't much more than the paper though. I've also heard the oil can mess up wht MAF but I would think thats because someone put too much of the oil on it.
so basicly I wouldn't mind going with the k&n but I really would rather it filter more than flow better but if the k&n really filters as good as the stock one I'll go that route.
