Dim dashboard lights

I have an 86 that the dashboard lights just got dim. They have been fine. I have checked all fuses and the reostate. Still very dim. Anyone?

Are there any other symptoms? Any chance the high beam indicator and both turn signal lights are on? If that is the case, then you have a bad ground. OR, could be the bulbs in the dash itself are out. Run a search through the archives for "digital dash" topics. There are some good links with repair suggestions for the digital dash. I just recently repaired mine, and the only expense was for four new bulbs and a little bit of my time.

Could be a bad photo eye on the cluster. Also the headlight switch controls the brightness and could have a flat spot on the pot. Things to check.

Thanks Taylor...No other symtoms other than the dash thingy. This just happened yesterday. The dash lights were fine before. I'll do a search on "digital dash"
