To remove the radiator you had to remove the upper shroud, so more than likely you disconnected the main fan relay - upper left hand corner. Make sure the connector is fully seated.
Sound like you have air in the system.If the water doesn't touch the sensor it won't turn the fans on .pull the upper hose or jack the right side of the car up to burp it.
Guys. I have a 85. Flushed the raditaor out the other day and now the the fan does not kick in. Over heats real fast.
what did I do? New t-stat??
Fans turn the air on and see if they come on.
If not it could be the fan switch it opertates by engine heat. Car gets hot the fan kicks in.
Buy a manual.
After you troubleshoot your fan issues and other cooling system problems....check out either Red Line Oil's "Water Wetter" or Royal Purple's "Purple Ice".

Fan thermostat will not turn on if it isn't immersed in water. The air never gets hot enough to turn it on. Burp it.
