Default New Magnaflows!

The big brown truck delivered the big white box with my new magnaflows from HottExhaust for my 94 conv... Well - I wasted NO time! Opened the box and got to work. The finish on these mufflers is excellent - can't wait to hear 'em

Any advice from those who have done the install as far as getting them adjusted properly? I cut off my old muffs and now am putting in the new ones. The pass side I got just right the first time - the driver's side wants to sit a little crooked.

Also - did you weld them or just use the clamps provided in the kit (or both?). Where is the best place to clamp them?

thanks! Can't wait to join the "magnaflow brotherhood".

I had mine welded and the resonator removed, straight pipe run for true duels with a crossover. I then took the hangers off of the old mufflers and got them to sit a little higher.

If one is hanging crooked, loosen the clamp, twist on the muffler a bit and then tighten it down. I left mine bolted on in case I need to adjust them. It's kinda hard to twist them when they are welded on.

I just used the clamps, I've adjusted them since then. I also bent the hangers to get them to sit higher up. Good luck! We'll need some pics when you're done.

I had mine welded on. And the muffler shop that put em on had to modify the hangers that came with em. Put they lined up great and don't stick out too far.

Done!

Finished up in no time - sound is very nice, muffs lined up great & are a welcome look from the OEMs.

I have a feeling my gas mileage will take a hit. Sounds good at startup and idle - sounds even better at WOT. The OEMs held up well for 60,000 miles and 10 years - but they look nasty compared to the new Mags. The car sounds like a V8 should.

As a side project, I dropped the spare for the first time ever and removed the whole assembly to get better access. I had 10 years of original date-coded, correct & numbers-matching dirt up in the tire tray!

After much thought & deliberation - I elected to clean the tire and tray and removed the NCRS quality debris. I did put it all in a baggie though and will sell it on EBay...

BTW, just a reminder to periodically check your spare tire as mine was FLAT.

I'll get some pics posted asap. Show some love to the Magnaflow brotherhood!
