You all know that when you are used to driving a Vette...you can usually floor it and it will stick to the road and go. Well...a 99 Silverado Z71 with a 5.3 liter tends to spin the tires a bit when you floor it...but I had to find out the scary way. I was waiting to pull out onto the main road and when I saw a good clearing (for the Vette that is) I stepped on the gas and the truck started slooooowly moving out into the road while spinning the tires. I was like "Ohhhhhhh sh@#$%@#$%t!!!!!" and I barely made it. Now I either have to allow for more distance or learn to drive the truck better...or both! Lesson learned!
With an empty bed, there's not much weight for initial traction back there And I've used the 4wd trick before, but only in the rain when the traction is even worse
Hmm, I've actually done that in the Vette once too. She can also spin 'em...
