Never Should Have ...
It started few months back, every once and a while when I went to start my car, all I would get was a click and nothing. Two or three minutes later, turn the key and she'd start right up. Battery was fine (almost new), connections seemed to be OK and would normally only happen when the car was hot. I'd run to the store or have to do some running around for work and when I'd come back, nothing. This would happen randomly and some times would go weeks without happening.
Also, a couple of weeks back, every once in a while I'd notice a small spot (size of a quarter) of anti-freeze in my car port. Checked all the obvious suspects (radiator, hoses) nothing -- and it would'nt happen all the time. Unrelated to the starting problem until today.
Today, I go to our local auto hobby shop, which has a lift, to replace the starter -- thinking it was going. While I have to tell you getting a starter out on a twin-turbo is no easy task; but after getting it out, I compare it to the one I had bought at Checkers -- they gave me the wrong one -- a little bigger and wrong gear teath
Oh it get better, examining one of the hoses going into the turbo on that side I notice a very small drop of antifreeze where it connects into the fitting. Thinking all I had to do was adjust and tighten the clamp holding it on, I did so.
Put the old starter back in, didn't want to leave it at the auto hobby shop over night and it was getting close to closing time. Got in and started the car -- steady stream of anti-freeze started flowing from the braided hose. Immediately turned it of, called a flat bed and had towed to a local shop for repairs
I know this is a little long, but I just needed to vent a group who could relate ....
It sucks to have problems but in this case you should see the positive.

I also had them replace my starter and check my battery (positive side mount was stripped). So they're replacing the batter and cables (my request).
What makes all this really good news, is all of this is being done for just under $500 (parts and labor). I know if I had a lift (and some time), I could have done it for a lot less; but $500 seems pretty reasonable to me.

Good thing to check all your hoses - a lot of the guys have changed theirs recently as they become brittle from the (turbo) heat...
Also, The Starter motor is a Callaway specific part - they gave you a starter for an 87 vette, not an 87 Callaway
As I have suggested to others, pull your starter and take it to a shop local to you and get it rebuilt (the ones you buy at parts stores are rebuilt anyways, right...)
Hope this helps

According to mechanics when I talked to them, they've already had the new starter in. I'm guessing they were able to find a good replacement; But I'll be calling them first thing Monday morning to make sure.
As far as my hoses go, I just had new turbos installed, along with new hoses about 7 months ago, at another shop. I wasn't real impressed with all of their work (a little lack of attention to detail), and now I'm thinking the problem with the hose may have been from improper installation -- it was split from the end up. Can't say for sure, just happy it's being fixed.

We (fellow owners and I) were discussing your B2K and the starter - it was mentioned to rebuild the one you have - look inthe yellow pages for this service if you don't know of one
