Hi Fellas,
I just installed a new radiator and everything is fine, no leaks and the car is running 15 degrees cooler. BUT-when I shut the engine off I can hear boiling water in the heater core. Anyone had this happen, and if so, what was the cure? It did not do this with the old radiator.
Thanks for any and all help.
It's probably air in the line you hear gurgling. Did you bleed the air from the system with the release valve at the throttle body?
There has also been issues with GM's having a turbulant, or to much flow into the heater core and it makes noise at times, but likely not after its shut off.
By chance, was the a/c on? The evaporator is right next to the core, and when you turn off the a/c, the high side bleeds through the orifice and into the evaporator until the pressures are equal. Should make a hissing noise.
