Okay, I received the replacement Delco/Bose CD player from mid america (Dr.Dons). I was absolutely amazed at the great sound!!! However, I have many cd's of the homemade variety, and make my own labels on the computer. This cd player does not allow insertion or ejection of these cd's. Anything without labels is fine. Is this normal, or should I send this unit back for adjustment for the third time???
If you notice on Dr. Don's site you can take the upgrade CDR mechanism for $200. additional which gives you the ability to play CDRs and the laser is wider with better sampling so you get instant recoveries.
Not sure if MAD offers that upgrade through Dr. Don. You may have to deal directly with him on that. Its normally $160 to refurb the existing CD mechanism/cassette/radio. A total of $360 will get you the upgrade CDR. He normally does 24-48 hr turn times. He did about a 4 hr turn time on mine. Good people there. (Oh since he just did your, sorry you didn't know this at the time, but it should be $200. for yours.)
