But can someone post pics of where to properly place your jack on a C4 to get it up in the air?
Also I would like to start doing my own oil changes, how difficult is it and will ramps be ok or will I need a jack for this as well???

Don't have a pic- but there are two jack points on each side of the car (one front, one rear) both are marked by two arrows pointing out the lift point...look just behind the gill plate for the front one, and just behind the door for the rear...right on the fiberglass frame rail.

Oil changes are more difficult on LT1's (in my opinion) as the exhaust is very close to the filter...other then getting the car up on ramps (some need homemade pre-ramps to get the nose up) but it is not very hard to do at all...I use AC filters and have a nice little plastic cup that goes on my socket wrench and fits around the groved bottom of the oil filter- K&N filters have a nice nut on the bottom...you will need to find something that will grab the filter well enough to turn (again, my LT1 is tight- older vettes are not as bad)

Have fun!

If you are using a floor jack, and want to lift the entire side of a car, place the jack right under the door mirror. The frame runs right there, saves time when switching to race tire at the track.

It is very easy to do,imo, except for getting under the car.

Most ramps that you buy are not too friendly to Vettes. When you try to drive up on them, you just push them. You need to brace them somehow so they don't move. Some ramps, the front of your nose hits before the wheels ride up on the ramps, so you have to make something (pre ramp) to fix this problem. I do all my own work on all my vehicles and I like the safety and convenience of my KwikLift.

Jack stands worry me, especially when doing a job like clutch removal.
