Remote Keyless Entry
So...someone who didn't know what they were doing or had strange needs for a remote programmed it wrong...and you inherited it.
Do you have an owners manual?
When the PKE is active, the door button on the fob affects the passenger door only and the passive function controls both doors.
To deactivate the passive function, open the drivers door and hold down both door buttons until the solenoid clicks twice. To change the state of the PKE repeat the procedure.
"With PKE inactive it will only open the pass/door & the hatch."

Sounds like both guys are talking about PKE being inactive, one says it only does one door/hatch, the other says it does both door/hatch"
I'm confused. My '95 only does the passenger door and hatch w/pke in passive mode.
I understand how to change which doors are operated w/pke, but can you program the passive mode too?
Not that I know of it's frusterating. But you will look like a gentleman if you open her door first, when really your just doing it so that she can unlock yours. hah ah

The user of the PKE system, will be able to choose whether or not the passenger door unlocks passively. The PKE will always unlock the drivers door during the passive unlock procedure. This procedure can only be accessed from the transmitter in range/key in ignition mode. To enable or disable this feature.....
A valid transmitter must be in range.
The key in the ignition & the ignition is "off".
The door buttton is pushed for longer than 2 seconds.
When this occurs the PKE will lock all doors to confirm to the user that the driver's door only or all doors unlock option has been selected. If the drivers door only option has been selected, the passenger door can be opened by pressing the door button.
Pass door manual unlock procedure.
The PKE system will unlock the pass/door when the flwg conditions are met:
A valid transmitter is in range.
The ignition is "off"
The door buttonis pushed for less than 2 seconds.
Manual hatch release same........Hatch release will disarm UTD if held when coming into range. Whew!!! Sometimes I get my passive & unpassives mixed up...
