just found a 86 cherry
I just bought a gorgeous 86 coup with under 24000 miles on her. 4+3 and loaded up nice. What would her horsepower be ? She is stock. I just sold my C3 with under 65000 on it but the C4 has more bells & whistles. Big thin g was the C3 had no air and was very hot.

Re: Just Found An 86 Cherry
230 bhp, 330 ft-lbs torque if with iron heads (early 86s)
235 bhp, 330 ft-lbs torque if with aluminum heads (late 86s, last 8,600 or so of the coupes)
The 4+3 was about 25% of production in 1986.

Congrats on your purchase! That mileage is unbelievable for an 86. My 94 just turned 24k miles.

In case your wondering how to tell if your 86' has aluminum heads, look at the valve covers. If they have perimeter bolts, they are iron. If they have 4 bolts down the center of the cover, they are aluminum.

Give it a little time - it'll stop working.
