I'm sure there is a secret here I don't know about.
I got the lid off the center console (armrest) and am trying to get the piece off that surrounds the shifter, FX3, & seat controls. It won't budge and it is really holding up my project.
Is there a hidden screw(s)? It looks like the door over the cupholders is blocking access to 2 screws. Can it be removed to get access?
Inside the console pull back the felt on the forward left and right sides you'll see two small bolts. I think they are 8 or 9mm same as under the ashtray. Is it six speed or auto? You'll need a snap ring pliers.
To get to the radio trim, the carpet peels back at the highest point meeting the console trim, there are two torex screws then that plastic panel folds back to reveal two more 9mm bolts.
If you can't get the gear lever **** off, you can unscrew the boot cover from the panel. it has 4 torex screws 1 on each corner. i think they are size 15 torex.
To get the shifter **** off, use a small blade screwdriver and pry up the button, then remove the retainer, shift knowb set screw and reverse inhibitor for manual. If its auto then pry up button, retainer, snap ring, and pull up on ****.
The retainer usually stays in the button when it comes off. It fits up into the button and has two long maybe an inch thin metal parallel fins. Not sure why they call it a retainer.
