Default radiator replacement

more than likely going to be replacing the radiator friday, any hints/tips/cautions/etc...? Don't want any surprises being thrown at me (still don't have a repair manual), like when replacing the sun visors, I had no idea they were spring loaded, nearly shot by a car! I have an 87 vert in case you were wondering.

It's pretty simple if i remember correctly. You just remove all the large bolts around the top edges of the shroud, the 5 small ones on top and thats it. Lift the shroud off and take the rad out. the only slightly tricky (normally a scratch or 2 on the hand) is the cradle for the a/c filter.

There is a little gizmo that plugs into the R/H tank hooked to a wire. Its the low coolant sensor. IF you can remove it from the old radiator without breaking the clips.... Otherwise don't remove the plug on the new rad until you have a good sensor in your hand. Probably need to mail order one or pay the big bucks at the dealer. I just grounded out the wire and kept the plug in.

So WTF is stuph? Oh! Stuff! How cool to mispell words.......

Unfortunatley the clips did break and I was unable to check the forum YESTERDAY!!!! So, I'm going to see if I can find one. I also lost a hose clamp off the overfill hose, I have no clue where it went, possibly the dry vac from when we were cleaning between the A/C and rad area (lots of pine needles and a partial plastic bag. We did find the hole in radiator too, it was about half way down the l/h plastic tank, there's a crack running along the rib where the water just drained out almost as fast as I could fill it.

As for the misspelling it's a habit I picked up years ago while chatting, besides it's to replaces f's with ph's

GOOD NEWS! I was looking in the box for a diagram or ANYTHING that could help me, so I'd be sure to know what to call sensor when hunting for a replacement, low and behold I found a new sensor in the bottom of the box! it saved me from going YAY!
