'86 Engine Replacement? (new/rebuilt)
I need a brand new, or rebuilt, replacement engine for my '86 vette with a manual transmission. The only thing I require is that it's 250HP or above, CA legal, and Fuel Injected. I can't find one anywhere that'll work for my car! Please help!

Do you have an early or late 86?How much is a short block from G.M.What happened to you motor?Is it worn out?G.M. has a crate motor that has 250 hp and I think its under $1400,complete but I dont know if it would work in your car.You could use what you need and sell the rest.Somebody here will have an answer for you.And last,how much do you have to spend?

Have you checked into a short block from G.M.They have a complete motor for under $1400,250hp.I dont know what you can use for a replacement as far as the smog regulations go.

I have checked with GM, and the only short block they have is way too overpriced for what I would get. I'm 90% sure I'm going to take it to a mechanic I know and just have him work on it; I trust him to make it right. He's done a lot of work for me before.
