I did mine the same way; used BBQ paint. Just mask off the swept area, leaving the hats and edges...then spray away!

I brushed the entire center portion with a rust convertor/inhibitor first. I don't remember the brand but I found it in the Wal-Mart auto department. The exposed part is brushed with gloss black rust-oleum. Cleanup was also minimized by the use of the $.30 "disposable" foam brushes.

I wasn't convinced that hi-temp paint was necessary, and this way is inexpensive enough that I don't feel bad about reapplying it in a few years if it's needed.

You can find caliper paint at the auto parts store. I think I found it in Black, Red, Blue, & Yellow at the O'Reilly here in town.

I painted mine red first and they threw off the whole look.

I found high temp aluminium colored paint at Autozone. Looks perfect.

I painted mine all black- (looks like the CE brake system) that is until I put C5's on the front...I used high temp engine paint from the auto parts store...good for up to 1200 degrees F...I don't think the rotors or calipers get that hot...

Looks nice also...better then rust! I put thin spoke C5 rims on it...so I have LOTS of wheel space to show!

Enjoy!

I agree with you on that. I used regular old gloss black rustoleum on my calipers and rotors over two years ago and they still look great.

Default Start with

Start with cleaning all surfaces to be painted, with brake rotor cleaner spray. It works great and the paint will stick.
