I have a beautiful 87 that just sits in the garage, it rarely starts. The car only has 60K on it, not known to have been rained on and seems to enjoy garage living more than a nice club run or a trip to the grocery store.
The car turns over great, I have tried various ways to start it (let the fuel pump pump for a few seconds, did & did not pump the accelerator, etc.) I have good fuel pressure, have not swapped out the cold start relay if I have one (it may only apply to 84's), was told that the cold start injector wouldn't cause my problem.
I'm quite frustrated and would like to be able to drive (and rely on it to re-start so I can return home) the sharp looking car to Corvette runs and shows. If anyone could shed some light on my problem, I would greatly appreciate that. Oh yes, the car was professionally tuned up before my real problems started. Plugs, dist. cap & rotor, set timing, reset computer, fuel & air filters, oil, serviced the Doug Nash o/d tranny, cleared a code 36 code in system (bad power & burn off relays for mass ait flow sensor -- replaced both sensors). I almost had to give up my first born to the slippery mechanic, that never fixed my "hard start problem" which was the first item on my pioritized list of things to do. No, I haven't checked for spark yet.
Thank you in advance for any help you folks could provide.
