Both will bolt to the SBC head.

They dont drop down the same way and they wouldnt merge to the rest of the exhaust the same, which means youll be cutting and welding.

Anybody have pics of either? Seems to me the only difference is the... uh.... I don't know really.

What the hell is the difference? Same exhaust ports, same engine placement, same chassis, same tranny....

The LT1 headers I bought are especially designed for the D port heads.

I have TPIS LT1 headers and Ypipe on my 85 L98, the only difference is the air fittings, absolutely no clearance issues whatsoever

I also have a set of L98 headers that are not D-port so be aware that both kinds are out there for those for whom it matters or care. And yes Hippie my LT1 headers are emissions type with the A.I.R. pipes. Difference is on LT1/4 engines there is only one (much larger) pipe per side instead of the individual pipes in each primary for the L98 style. These also have an O2 bung in each collector and in each connector pipe. As far as fitment goes, I think all C4 headers will fit as far as bolting on so if you're going custom exhaust anyway, it really doesn't matter. The L98 headers slipped up into place on my '95 just as well as my LT1 specific ones did.
