Default Headers set up?

When you get headers, is it better to go with cats with out cats or x pipe, I am not worried about sound but if I could get a little more horespower with one or the other, I would like to know before I make my purchase?

I just ordered LT headers today... In CA, I'm pretty much restricted to running cats (as if the LTs were somehow okay with cats!). The highflow bullet cats out there (Random Tech, Dynatech) that people use offer very little restriction in flow. Maybe a dyno could show a difference, but I don't know if anyone's ever tried it. With regards to SOTP, though, I don't think you'll notice a difference.
