Short of buying the information... is there a way to find out what options an 84 coupe has, it's origional paint color, etc.? My dad has decided to put some money into doing some restoration so knowing the origional color of the car for example would be great.
From: Why are there squished peanut butter cups in my underware?
Check in the storage compartment behind the drivers seat. There should be a RPO sticker there. That will have all of the codes for how the Vette was equiped.
This site will translate the codes. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...o/8496rpo.html

Try looking behind the door panels or under the gas door.
If any bodyshop changes the color, very few go all the way and paint everything.
Also, you can get the original window sticker about $50 from the National Corvette Museum.
As stated above,if you start looking around the car you should be able to find the stock color.Look under weather stripping, under moulding any place that could be masked off for painting. As far as the build sheet goes,it should be on top of the gas tank, mine was.
My '93 40th Anniversary has two (2) build sheets. There build sheet on the tank is still intact, but I was able to get the other original out of the frame rail, next to the power steering pump reservoir. There is a great article on the 40th anniversary website on how to retrieve the build sheet. It is hard work, but worth it. If interested, let me know and I can cut and paste the URL. Good luck,
Mark
