with all above. These cars are hobbies. They aren't new and never will be. Have fun driving it and workin' on it as things turn up. It will be the most fun you have with a hobby.

Bogus and Alcee1 -

Sounds like a plan is definately forming here.
I'm off Spencer and Prairie.

Do we want to try for an after hrs during the week or a weekend?
I'm booked with family stuff this weekend, but open pretty much after that.

I am unemployed right now... do have a part timer, but that won't really interfere much.

This weekend is bad, too... Going east for a friends wedding.

Next weekend might be ok, I will have to check for sure.

Oh, and next monday nite is way bad - Eagles are playing!!!

Lets go ahead and plan for the 25th and hopefully nothing will come up for all of us. How does that sound. Will we meet at Bogus place? I'm on 98th and Denker in LA, my place is cool also (I have a pretty cool garage)...

I'm good with the 25th

I'd say my place, but my garage is cleverly disguised as a carport

So if nothing else changes - it's on

I just picked up my '84 2 weeks ago .
I already replaced the radiator and have a headlight motor "issue" (hope its just bushings).
I’d be lost on the headlight motor if it weren’t for this forum. Someone somewhere has already seen it and done it.

I plan to do any of the work I can myself to save $$$ and because I enjoy it.

Good luck, and I hope that your major problems turn into less major ones when you get it back from the dealer.

Oh… and, don’t forget to wave

That sounds doable. I will confirm with the Mrs!

If something changes, I will post here!

Oh, we do have dinner plans that evening, so we will have to break early.

I agree. There are a lot of repairs that you can learn to do yourself and have the satisfaction that you were able to fix it yourself and saved some money at the same time.

Default It finally returns!

Firstly,
Thanks for all the replies - It just gets frustrating to have a new toy and not be able to play with it. And then keep getting the repair bill increased - AARGH!

I finally got the beast back this morning - I almost felt sorry for the cashier as she told me the total; $3560. I guess that they don't have that many people that get that high.

However the good news is that you're all correct - THIS CAR ROCKS!
Took it to work (35 mile drive) with light traffic and it cooks. It might just get renamed from "Money Pit" to "Ticket Machine".

Hopefully, there's no more major problems and I can get down to some serious fun!!

damn. That is a painful experience.

Why feel sorry for the cashier? You were the one paying the bill!!!

See you all next Saturday!

I have a grill if anyone wants to bring food, too!

We can arrange time and directions via IM.
