Default Couple small problems...

2 small problems that I have been encountering on my '95 convert.

1-The ragtop isn't sealed to the rear window anymore. Along the bottom edge, the fabric has pulled away from the glass and it is leaking. It looks like 2-sided tape would fix this easily, but what kind and is there an "accepted" solution to this problem?

2-The heater controls aren't quite working. Sometimes the heat ^ button doesn't respond, but the down one always does.

Any advice or help is GREATLY appreciated!

I think there is a tech tip on #2. Something about the solder being cracked for the buttons

Go to a shop that installs convertible tops and ask their advice. Shop around too. Good luck!

Went to the one local shop (small area) and they said that the whole top needed replaced. I call BS on that.

A little ghetto-fix never hurt anyone...right?

Right! Maybe try the tape that is used to affix emblems on cars. It's super heavy duty. You can find it at the parts store. Don't know if it will work, but it is the first thing that came to mind.

Thanks! I'll check that out.

I pulled the side mouldings off my own car and whatever tape-style adhesive used on there is incredible stuff. I know the right product is out there, its just a matter of identifying it.

Well, the 3M Weatherstriping Adhesive is pretty impressive stuff. Comes in Yellow or Black.

I used this on the Velcro on the side supports.

Quick note on 2. Mine was doing the same thing. I took it apart and used an eraser to clean the contacts. Its been working fine ever since. There was a tech-tip on how to do this. Its worth the time to do.
