Before these speeds smooth, while hitting and accelerating into 85 - 86 - 87 - 88 mph, noticable vibration, getting up into the 90's+ smooth once again. At first I thought it was the road I was on, but found out today, it's not the road, but my car. Any ideas why?
Trans is auto, year 96, mods none, GSD3's with about 4,500 plus miles on them, miles on the car about 52,000.
I had a similar problem in my firebird but at the 64-70mph range. The cause was that I had aftermarket wheels (Cragar SS 15"s) and the lug holes were oval to fit multiple cars. They were off center by just a little bit and that did it. I found that if it was a front wheel, the steering column shook and the dash shook if it was a rear wheel (i think, it was a long time ago and maybe the other way around)
I think that if one or more of the wheels was out of balance, it could do the same thing. Could be wrong, though.
