When my battery went dead, I went to the Firestone dealer about a mile away & bought one [an Interstate]. About 6 months ago, no problems .
I did not do comparison shopping, as long as a battery works, it works for me.
I have used Interstate batteries for over 10 years and have had good luck with them. I have one in my 86' vette and it seems to work just fine.
The toughest job I ever had for a battery was in a 1987 Ford E-350 cube van. It had a 351 small block and I used it in the mountains of VA to haul sound equipment. I did a lot of Frat house work and this ment that I would turn on the dome lights to light up the cargo box for about 30 minutes to load the truck after the show, and then start it up in the dead of winter at about 4AM. I always used Interstate batteries in the truck and they served me without problems or incidents.
I put one in my 93 about two years ago. I had to replace it a couple weeks ago as it died twice. Seems like it should have lasted longer than that. I replaced it with an Autozone 75-L DuraLast..
My 90 had an interstate when I got it and it had been unhooked in storage for almost 8 years. It developed a bad cell and I took it to firestone hoping they'd pro rate it and they totally surprised me when they tested it and then put a new one in no charge, no reciept required. I was like WOW! Are you sure?? They said yes, it has a transferable lifetime warranty. I said thanks and left with a brand new one just grinning.
