I recently noticed a squeeking from my left rear wheel. It is not a click, it sounds more like a squeeky bed spring, especially at lower speeds (like rolling up to a red light). When I speed up the squeek gets shorter, but more frequent. I checked the play in the wheel and I don't feel any - so I think the bearings are okay. I also sprayed oil on the u-joints - but the noise is still there. The noise will occasionally stop (randomly) but then starts back up within 1/2 mile
Any ideas?
It's an '86 coupe
I would make sure before you jump on them u joints cause them joint will give you a run for the money.i had the same squeak and right away put new half shaft joints, man what weekend that was,and the squeak was still there.turn out to be brake pad warning indicator was bent and touching rotor.my pads were not long on car either so i did'nt think it was a brake issue either.so check it out good
The same thing happened to me, it's the U-Joints. I drive my vette hard and the previous owner did one too many burnouts. There was shreddings all inside my U-Joint.
