I.D. an engine?
How do I tell what engine is in my vette I can spot a vette a mile away but I never thuaght I could afford one so I never loked past the pretty body. It's a 1986 tuned port with aluminum heads. convertible auto red thats about all I can tell you. please help

www.corvetteactioncenter.com will tell you everything you wanna know about your vette... including specs, 1/4 times, HP/TQ numbers etc...

For full details on your particular '86, supply the VIN to the Corvette Museum along with a few $$ and they will send you the original build sheet on your car.
Yep, it's one of the first L98s with Al heads and was rated at 235chp but it does not have roller valve lifters (first rollers came in '87).

Don't get me wrong CAC is okay.......but CF is waaaaay better.

The chp is crank horsepower... that's your basic HP rating... the actual power you put to the ground is less that's your RWHP (rear wheel HP)...
I didn't realize the spec sheets, times, and ratios were on this site. Where are they at?
