For the amount of time and effort you would spend (not to mention $$$... I mean $$$$$$$$$$$!), you might just as well enjoy the car that you have the way it is. Then, when you get the itch, sell it and buy a newer C4. That way, you haven't sunk ALL of your money into one car... and you get to try more C4 flavors!

It's your car so do as you like with it.

Remember though that what suits your taste may not suit that of someone else, so if resale is a consideration, think about it.

You should always do to Your Vette, what you would get the most enjoyment out of. One of us likes them Stock and the other likes it to be Highly Modified. These are both 84's, can you guess which is stock and which is modified.

I think I see what your asking. As an example I like modifying my engine, suspension and have a molds; but I don't like radical paint jobs or spoiler kits on my cars. I repect those that do like this and congradulate them when the job is done nicely. Some purist might think swapping wheels alone is to much, but in the end if it's your car, your money and your happy; nothing else should matter.

Personally I would leave it bone stock. My 95 vert has one mod...a spec plate that tells the hp and torque ratings on the console! and thats it.

Do what you want but I have always thought vettes look worse with body mods etc.. and I just perfer vettes to be stock, this even means no power mods. Now if it was a camaro ss sure I might do a couple things like exhaust etc bc thats a muscle car that is known to be loud etc...corvettes are more known for a nice classy sports car for people with better taste so most are left stock. Well now days since fast and the furious came out a lot of rich punks go out and screw them up so I guess theres a lot of modded ones too now days.

I like to buy them stock, leave the body alone (except rims and brakes), and modify the engine and suspension....something of a sleeper. It's disheartening to see a sweet stock C4 get toasted by a modded Mustang, or something rice.

I think, hey it's your car do with it as you please. But do remember, that not all people have the same tastes, and when it comes to selling it you may have a tough time. And that goes both ways, stock or modified.

When I was looking for mine, stock only for me, with the exception of maybe exhaust, tires or wheels. Ended up with a totally stock.

sinny8, when i saw the title of your post, i assumed you meant engine modifications, and if that would have been the case i say absolutely. however, now i see you included bodykit mods......jmho, please please please DO NOT do this part of it.

here's my take in a nutshell:

stereo/speakers - most certainly, nothing but a (necessary) improvement

engine/other performance - no question, YES. if you do this, make sure the components match up well AND you have it all done correctly. imo, this ADDS to the value, provided its done with a professional job, and all papaers to back it up. many folks enjoy MORE power, and this is a good thing! after all, this is partly what owning a corvette is about.

bodykits & most aftermarket external visual mods - NEVER, no way, DON'T DO THIS, especially if they aren't easily reversible. if you had already purchased a corvette with any of this stuff on because you liked it, thats fine and that's one thing......however if you're thinking that you want this stuff installed after you buy the car, may I implore you that you remove this idea from your head asap. This kind of thing COSTS ALOT of money, it DETRACTS from the overall value, you significantly REDUCE the market of potential buyers (if this occurs down the road), and above all, YOU may end up getting sick of it anyway....so after all the $$ spent just to further accelerate the devaluation of your vette, with the potential risk of NEVER selling it (especially if you would have to for financial reasons), you will screw yourself royally for a very silly reason.

Good luck on your decisions, and make it fun!

As you can see, some will say 'stock' and some will say 'modify'.

I like personalization. But, as said above, it matters more how YOU like it.
