I am new to this forum but have read about numerous climate control problems. Mine also has a mind of it's own. some times the buttons don't work but even when they do in auto the air doesn't seem to get hot even when asking for the temp at 90. however in manual mode it does seem to get hot. any suggestions? thanks jay
...hmmm...not sure I'm completely following ya'. What year is your car? Do you have the electronic climate control? Describe the symptoms a little more, if possible, and hopefully we can help you figure this one out.
what I am saying is that it does not get hot in the auto mode even when temp control is asking for 90. however when I go to the floor mode it seems to work and get hot. In the auto mode even when temp selected is 90 the a/s compressor is on. It is a 94 sixspeed with 24,000 miles
Usually no heat is a plugged core, but with heat at the floor when you command heat, sounds like a funky control panel. Check the temp door by removing the blower module that is mounted on the left side of the evaporator housing. Watch the door and see if it moves between 60 and 90, setting on Auto. Then see if it moves with the setting on Heat. If it moves on one, but not on the other, it's more than likely a dash assembly problem. If it doesn't move at all, it's either the motor that controls the door, it's linkage, or the Progammer. Post your observations for further help.
