There are tools made to remove them in such a situation but I'm not sure whether or not it damages the nut, I've never seen or used one. Perhaps if you left a deposit, some friendly tire store or garage would let you borrow one. Then take them all 4 off, throw them away and replace w/ standard nuts! That's what I did.... No more having to keep up with the stupid socket.
I had the same problem. I used a deep dish socket, just the right size so when I hammered it on to the locking nut it held and I was able to loosen the nut. Took about and hour to remove all four. Two days later I fould the key in my tool box :o
I ran a 16 point about halfway on the lug and it felt pretty good. Then it spun on me.I was afraid to booger the key any farther...
I also happened to stop by Goodyear on the way home and they had no idea how to get it off.
Now the car sits till the lock comes off.............argh
If you want to wait until they can ship it to you, you can order a replacement if you know your "Wheel Lock Key Identification Number". You can order it here.

Tire stores are hit and miss on such things, I guess. There are many tire stores I won't frequent for any reason because they are staffed with dolts. Check with the dealer tomorrow too, and also some junkyards keep these tools.
You get two cards with the numbers on them with locking lug nuts . Keep in safe place! The Last owner probaly has them. If I had locking nuts and did not have the replacement #s I would throw them away. They really are a PITA anyway.JMO At least you got off
I found the cards with the numbers hiding in the owners manual case when I lost the key. I have also hammered the socket on the lock trick with much success.
