Default Hood Emblem Question

I replaced the rear gas door emblem.....hair dryer and dental floss......easy enough.
Before I scratch up anything, is the hood emblem held on by just adhesive or is it also bolted on like the gas door emblem?

If my memory serves me correct they are also held on by 10mm speed nuts. Use some grease on your deep well socket or one with a magnet as they fall off easily. They then slide from side to side inside the lip everytime you turn a corner!

Masking tape works good too.

grease, or the masking tape thing works too to hold the nuts into sockett. If you havent located them yet , raise your hood and look just under the "BOWLING GREEN" emblem and you'll see the two holes that access the nuts. If you're working alone it may be a good idea to put a bit of tape on the emblem itself as paint safegaurd so emblem cant fall loose when you remove nuts.

I actually used a small drop of crazy glue on the socket side , placed it thru the hole, once on the nut, counted to ten, then removed them. Once it was time to replace them I wobbled the socket once they were tight and the socket came right off of the nut. No lost nut. JUST A SMALL DROP. Basically to keep the nut from falling.

No adhesive - just speed nuts. The grease, masking tape, or glue suggestion(s) is a good one.

Did this myself a couple weeks ago; really helped the front of the 1985.
