Call Contemporary Corvette, 1-800-367-8388, they are in Bristol,PA. Only thing he won't sell just the pumpkin, you have to buy everything needed for a conversion. What needs replacing? The gears or is the case cracked? MAM and Ecklers require a rebuildable case for a core or it's like $600 extra.

I'm with Frank on this one... what all is wrong?

Is it internal? or is the case damage?

At the price of replacement, it might be worth it to check out components through GM.

For example, a new differential case is only 390.00 through GM Parts Direct... part # 10181217 Part #16 on the graphic,

Part number 10132777, #9 on the graphic, is $1100.00. Much less than entirely new assembly.

click on this link for the image, it can also be made bigger.

There is nothing currently wrong with the rear, but i am planning on dropping in a 500 hp motor within the next year or so, and i want to have the strength of the dana 44, or do you think the 36 would be fine if i had it rebuilt to handle this power output???

OK, if you are looking to do the conversion, you are better off calling Contemporary, you will get everything you need for the conversion.

Mid America etc only sells the pumpkin, you also need the cover, driveshaft and driveline support.
