Personally I'd get the Hurst instead, much better feel. In either case, a shifter won't help you shift quicker, only proper eye/hand/feet coordination will regardless of the shifter.

We have a ripper shifter in our 02 Z-06. It is very stiff.....but my husband says that's just because I'm a "girl," although I work out with weights, so I don't think I'm a total wimp. It rattles quite a bit too, which he had read about on the forum. I think we're switching back to the stock shifter. You can shorten the throw on them. My 88 is an automatic, so the Z06 was my first experience with the ripper.
I see them on e-bay from time to time. 100.00 + dollars. There much higher in the corvette mags. I got a buddie just put a new Hurst in his F-Body he likes it.
yes you can use the stock **** on the ripper.. but how in the world did you get rid of the rattle in yours? that is the ONLY thing i dont like about mine. it is a mans shifter, but you can simply hammer the gear as hard as you like and it'll go where you want it. and it'll either be in gear or it wont. very nice made too. just please please please tell me how you got rid of the rattle.
