When you did your restoration what did you use to refinish the valve covers and air cleaner? Were you able to match the factory color?

Nice... After looking at multiple wheel options for early C4's ...I am really enjoying the clean, stock look. Think I'll keep my wheels for a while (are those Flowmasters in the rear?). Thanks for the pix.

I didn't repaint them but I think The Last Detail has the original paint available. Check this page for their link: http://www.c4restore.com/repair.htm

Thanks much!! I don't know if they're Flowmasters or not--they've been on the vehicle since I bought it 7 years ago. *I wouldn't buy them again, though. Too much resinance!!! Check this page for a link to the Crossfire Injection Vault where there's a thorough thread that discusses resinance issues and provides several very good alternatives: http://www.c4restore.com/repair.htm

I had generic OEM '84 style mufflers on my '85 when I bought it(where the tips point down). They had major resonanace too... Replaced them with the Force II type "flows", with straight tips...major improvement. Never figured exhast could make such a difference in the driving experience. Back to your thread.......Again...awesome looking '84!

Haggerty wanted me to insure it for $18,000 but I talked them down to $10,000. *The car sits, clean, in my garage under its cover these days. I used its equity to finance 2 rental homes (nothing down on the homes--I actually MADE money on each closing)!
