A little early, but what about this trans swap?

I just read where the new Cadillac STS is available with a "shiftable" 5 speed automatic transmission. (I imagine its very similar to the SelectShift in my wife's Lincoln LS). Since its in the STS it can handle the torque of a Northstar.
I know its too early to run down to your friendly GMPP dealer and order one, but once these transmissions start showing up on the shelf, how long before someone transplants one into a C4 ( or earlier Corvette)? I think it would be a very interesting project.

A little too much free time on your hands if you're sitting around even contemplating such a horrific mess.
If the thing even managed to fit you'd have a computer controlled mess that would give you a permanent headache.

I may be mistaken but, isn't the Northstar a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE!! That would be an interesting feat making that work in a C-4. I would love to meet the guy that can make this happen.

The Northstar is an engine that comes in the STS. In the past the STS was a front wheel drive car, but the new ones's are rear wheel (or all-wheel) drive.
