Free shift and ebrake boot !!!

Some info...
The replacement shift boots for 84-89 sold by Ecklers and such do not fit. I had to peel the leather off the one they sent me and glue it to the factory boot frame. Make a bolt on part, and it will sell.
The vette doesn't have a boot for the e-brake. It's not your typical ebrake setup.

Sorry it took so long to reply.
1) CentralCoaster, this is what I spoke of in my previous post.
(FYI, they do make the correct boot, however you get to order the only one they list in catalogues, call tech support, mail it back, and then get the correct one 1 month later)
2) Like I said above, there are two indeed, and according to Ecklers its a crap-shoot for which one is in which car. There is a longer one and a shorter one. You could e-mail ecklers and ask them what the dimensions are, but I am sorry I don't remember.

No, the difference is in the length of the base that is underneath the plastic console. If you need the long one and get the short one, you either have to rebsubmit for the correct one...or do what Central mentioned which is peel of the leather and screw through that not the screw hole. What they charge for a leather boot, not worth that to me!

Just to let all of you C4'ers know...a bunch of C5'ers have ordered from Redline and have been VERY impressed with their work. I am looking at placing an order myself in the next couple of days and if you want, when I receive mine, I will let you all know how I like them (shift boot & e-brake boot).

Hi all,
We have special offer for C4 owners. We will sell C4 automatic shift boot for $30 shipped( its 84-87 I belive but it probably will fit to other models) . Just put a note on your order that you want to try our boot on an automatic, we'll send you our boot and if, after trying to install, you establish that changes are needed to the shift boot and help us design those changes, we'll do them for you for free.
Also if you send us install instruction with pictures than we will reimburse your money 100%.

Just a quick update... I received the prototype 6-speed boot from Przemek around Thanksgiving. It needs a few adjustments before I can install it, but I've given some feedback so hopefully they can make it fit. It will need to be glued to the factory metal ring (no biggie).
The leather they use is very high quality! The GM leather is not even in the same league.
