My basic concern is that all the cars I'm interested in are privately owned, out of state & basically not accessible first hand.
I would [& did] buy mine from a private long time owner.
A private owner can give you repair bills and tell you about the car's history---if he's honest.
With a dealership, you have no idea where that Corvette's been.
I am in the minority in that I purchased my 93 from a dealer. I worked with Jim Hendricks at Bud's Chevrolet in St. Mary's, OH. I paid what I believe to have been the fair market value... and they were able to get me financed. The big issue is that they treated my wife and I very well. I have never had such a great car buying experience.
Just remember that the cars you will be looking at are used cars and they will not be perfect. That's fine, you're just gonna drive the hell out of it anyway!
Another + of buying from a dealer is you have the option of buying mechanical insurance.
I'm brand new to this arena ('vette mania'), but am interested in purchasing a C4.... love the styling, leaning toward a vert in the '93 to '96 range. My basic concern is that all the cars I'm interested in are privately owned, out of state & basically not accessible first hand. Have any of y'all been in similar position? Any recommendations? Tx,
I'm in New Hampshire and have a '95 Convertible for sale. See my write up in the C4's for sale heading of the forum. Titled "95 Convertible". I'll make the car available for your inspection, your representative's inspection and/or your mechanics inspection. I'll even deliver!
