Default New best for stock heads/cam L98

I got a new best 1/4 mile time today at Raceway Park at the ECS Corvette Challenge in my stock heads/cam L98. The only addition to the car from the mods in my sig are Hooker long tube headers. The headers look to have been good for about .1 - .15

The weather today was pretty decent with the DA hovering around +500. Conditions were pretty similar two weeks ago and the car was running high 12.8s to low 12.9s (before the headers). Today the car was running mid to high 12.7s with a best of 12.73. Here's a breakdown of that run.

60' 1.71
330 5.16
1/8 8.09
mph 81.97
1000 10.61
1/4 12.73
mph 106.19

If I did it again I'd probably go with a 3.07 rear. I base my car's performance on how Vic'89s car performs as we have pretty much the same set-up. He has the 3.07 rear and I (obviuosly) have the 3.33s. In comparison my car normally gets out of the hole a bit quicker than Vic's, but after the launch his car pulls harder. I think anything steeper than a 3.07 is too steep for an auto L98. I can get away with the 3.33, but I really think I'm losing a bit on the other end of the track and I think it would be that much worse with anything steeper.

The air was decent with the temps in the mid 50s and the DA hovering around +500 most of the day. I think it was starting to get better toward the end which was when I had the 12.73, which BTW was on a 12.77 dial

Nice job Tom. I watched the 12.73 run.

Looks like the 3.33's give you a better 60' time than me.

Good run Tom. Did you end up droppin' the headers in yourself?

Hey Chuck

I ended up paying someone to put them in. I had intended on doing them myself, but I kinda ran short on time and wanted to get them in before the challenge.

Vic, I agree that the 3.33s are probably getting me off the line a bit quicker, but I'm wondering if they're hurtin me a bit after that
