They look good. Much better than the plastic chrome looking letters that I currently have on the back. Now to figure out how to take the plastic ones off. Any tips? They are held on with the 3M backing. Know of any remover fluids that won't harm the paint?

3M does have an adhesive remover for AFTER you get them off. I'm not sure how much it would help you actually GET them off. I don't have a can here anymore or I could get you the number. But any auto paint store will have it.

Goo be gone, lighter fluid, turpentine.... soak a rag and then hold it on the old adhesive. This will help soften it. Then use rub the loosened material off.... This will take a long time
If you don't want to get one, use a hair drier. It'll loosen the adhesive on the 3M tape just enough to allow you to carefully remove them... Heat's always the best alternative to chemicals IMO.

The adhesive remover by 3M that Corvettekid mentioned has worked best for me. It was formulated to do what you're wanting to do. If you use the little plastic spout that comes with the can you can get the liquid around the back of the letter. A few applications of it will soften up the adhesive so you can usually get the emblem off with your fingers. It is available at auto stores and I believe I've seen it at Home Depot. It's a red and white can.

Be forewarned Tom, that you WILL have to reapply your 300 coats of wax to that area afterward!
Why did you have to post a pic???? Those look so much better than my chrome stickies... Just might have to throw another $60 on the card, it may get paid off eventually...

Rick and I are the only ones going for sure so far. We're trying to build interest in it. So, are you going to play with us? I'd love to see that rocket of yours hit the course.
