Been about six days since I woke the ole girl up..Drove it about six or seven miles, got back to the ranch........Heard what sounds like a tapping noise coming from under the hood...This may sound dumb, but I don't remember if I ever heard this sound before..Could it be because the car was not warmed up all the way, or because it is a little chilly outside...Before you all answer,,,,,,,,,, please go out and start those engines and listen, listen ,listen to those perfect engines and let me know something...
I think it is alittle more clanky than injectors. I am not that knowledgable with heavy engine repair so I really don't know. Do the 92 LT1s have roller cams and rockers? Cause I thought the lifters were alittle loud.
A loose rocker arm could make a "tack" sound, Injectors make quite a bit of ticking noise-means their workin'. Get it good and warm, drive it for a while, then see. A "mechanic's stethescope"(long screwdriver) might help pinpoint the location. Watch those plug wires!

It could be oh so many things! Does it go away after the engine comes up to operating temperature? That would be a big clue, especially on a cold morning.

Sorry I don't mean to Hijack your thread.
87 got the roller cam but none of them have rolller rockers.
Loud lifters? Marvel Mistery Oil. When a quart low add a quart of Marvel then drive the car for 10 miles.
Noisy lifters is unusual in a LT-1. Are you using Mobil 1 10-30?
If your using 5-30 move up to 10-30.
