I have a totally stock 94 coupe with 25,000 on it. It has the original plugs and going to change them today. Have seen numerous suggestions about plugs on here. There seems to be alot of difference of opinion. Leaving to Auto zone in just a little while, any body have any one plug they reccomend?
well my personal opinion is go with the stock plugs. ac delco. i've never tried anything else in any car i owned except for the stock plugs. just something i have always done and never had a problem in 30yrs. i am sure aftermarket anything is good and bad, but just never tried them. you just can't go wrong with stock. but that is just my thought. i'm not a mechanic or that deep into car repair. have fun today!!
if it is your original mileage, probably not. i'm thinking if your car is new to you.. sure go ahead. that way you know exactly when things were done to it, and for 50.00, it will give you a piece of mind. especially if you are going to plan on keeping it for years and years. when i got mine with 38k miles.. i just changed all fluids, filters, and things like plugs. that way i know when it was done last...
It is new to me, that is why I was going to do it, I have also read about how the small plug on the center electrode seems to come off, I guess just more curiosity than anything else.
Save yourself some trouble and take off the ASR plastic cover first. And be very aware of your knee position, it is very easy to not pay attention and crack your fenderette (the part with the gills)
I just replaced my stock AC's with Bosch Platinum +4's....noticeable difference...acceleration is quicker and smoother...engine just feels more "powerful" and responsive when you put the hammer down...sweet...would definitely recommend them..plus gap is set at the factory for the specific application...
