Holy crap, talk about a run-on . Do you get emissions tested? If so, you'll fail after removing the cats... either way, I wouldn't take them off .. Get a set of nice hi-flow cats and mate them to your Corsa's - It's what I'm doing in the Spring..

Youll throw codes without cats or with getted cats on a 96. Go for high flow.

Right. Not to mention what taking the cats off does to the ozone layer... but that's a discussion for another day

I use Random Technologies hi-flow cats on my LT4 with Exotic Muscle LT headers and a Corsa Catback. You'll have to have an exhuast shop weld the cats into some custom pipes to go between the headers' collectors and the Corsa.

Here's a pic for you so you'll know what it should look like. It might be worth saving to your computer and printing out to show the shop how to do it. The space is tight in the "tunnel" on either side of the tranny, so you don't want to have to pay to have it re-done!

Put your car up on ramps or jackstands and take a good look under there. You will quickly realize that the cats have to go. They are monsters that go exactly where the header collectors are going to go. The stock cats won't fit anywhere else.

Buy Random Tech cats and have them put in place by a good exhaust shop. I have TPIS longtubes myself. If you have an auto the cats are going to have to go behind the transmission, if a 6 speed then they go in the tunnel just behind the headers..

.Here's mine, headers, cats, x-pipe.

Wow, that looks awesome. So, tell me, how much do you recommend getting LT headers?
How much research did you put into it and what made you conclude that your choice
was best?

Im only thinking that I want to do this for HP gains, better sound and some of the headers
are in my price range. I guess what Im getting at is, is it worth it?

Ok... this is beyond my comprehension... You are kidding, right?

Never heard of "smog"?

Never heard of the relationship between greenhouse gases and the ozone layer?

Never heard of global warming?

They are not just there to take up space and rob us of horsepower. I know we all want a few more ponies, but future generations may want to live here.

BTW, some very nice long tube header installation and custom exhaust pics above. Thanks guys!
