Anybody put intake gaskets in their car? Had the car 8 hours when I discovered an anti freeze leak. A simple pressure test showed leak coming from front of r/h head and intake manifold. Took it apart last night, an awful lot of vacuum lines, wires, sensors, and who knows what else! Got manifold and 1 runner back on tonight. Should be back together tomorrow. Seller said nothing about. Is this a common problem? I'm working a 1987 4 speed, convertible. The rest of the car is immaculate!!
Other than the a/f leak the car is not a disappointment.

I assume you used the FelPro intake gasket set.
Did you use black RTV to seal the front & rear engine lands against the underside of the intake base and a thin layer around the water passages from the heads?
Did you roughen both the engine lands and the under side of the intake base?
Did you clean the intake base bolts and use Permates #2 on them?
If you did all those things and torqued the base bolts to spec in the proper sequence I strongly suggest that you just walk away for 24hrs (to let the RTV cure and bond to the metals) and then retorque the base before installing the rest of the components.
Another trick is to actually drill dimples into the intake and block. It will mean that the RTV will last a long long time.
One last thing, get different bolts... the Torx bolts are very difficult to retorque once the runners are in place. So use regular hex head bolts. Stainless is recommended.
Once they set up, it's not a bad idea to retorque them in about a week or so...
Idle rolls from 700 to 1800 rpm. I think I have a vacuum leak. Whether it's a line off (has to be a big one) or a line that broke back from where I handled it (lines were very brittle). I'l find it, today I hope!!
