I have seen a glass polish, its like a liquid compound that actually cleans the glass. I have seen cars that the glass was done and you cant tell there is a windshield in the car.
I will check the wax shop and see if I can find a link for you.

My brother owns a glass company and recommends Eagle One glass cleaner with regular old newspaper to clean and dry with. Works great on mine.

And sometimes when the bugs are plentiful, a straight (single edge) razor blade cuts through the nasty stuff fast!

I use Stoner's or Windex Power Shine Auto Glass and Window Cleaner with some newspaper. It works great and cuts right through the haze and film.

I have to go with Coach on this one: a razor blade would seem to be the safest way.......

The Tech Support folks at Rain-X recommended SoftScrub to clean my windshield, and it worked great.
